Tuesday and Friday Evenings start April 4 We will be having open play again on Tuesday and Fridays evenings, 6 pm to 9 pm starting Tuesday, April 4, and Friday, April 7. Unlike last year, Tuesdays and Fridays will be free for the 2017-2018 season. This change is a result of city-wide rule that makes all drop-in use of the community centers during regular hours free. Tuesday and Friday play starting with the 2018-2019 season will be organized under the Parks and Recreation “class” structure with still-to-be-determined p ...Continue Reading

GLTTC is now the longest running and best equipped table tennis facility in Seattle. We have had hundreds of participants from the Puget Sound region, representing all ages, genders, national backgrounds, and ability levels. All of this would not have been possible without the support we have gotten from the GLCC staff and the GL Advisory Council for over 25 years. The GLCC is now at a crossroads. The city has determined that rebuilding the center will be more cost effective than renovation and continued maintenance o ...Continue Reading

One of our new Joola tables broke today while a member was folding it up. The 3 center hinges on one of the table halves broke off pulling a portion of the table surface under each hinge with it. The table is marked "BROKEN". Do not attempt to set it up on Saturday. If you are setting up or putting away one of our 3 remaining Joola tables, please be sure there is someone on each side of the table. Apparently these tables have a weakness where they attach together. Folding them up just from one side put ...Continue Reading

They match the two Joola tables we received as part of the USOC sponsored Opening Serve para table tennis program, so we now have a total of 4 Joola tables. As a result, we are selling several of our older tables. The current plan is to sell the Stiga Private-Roller table, and 2 or 3 Killerspin MyT9 tables. Here's what you an do: [*]Send an email message to GLCC coordinator, Chris Easterday <chris.ea ...Continue Reading

The Green Lake Community Center has given us Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm. Up to now there have not been many people coming. (What??? Are you working instead of playing ping pong?) My guess is that more folks would show up if they could be sure that there would be other players to hit with. I would like to see us filling up the gym like we do on Saturdays and Sundays. To help get things going, David Marques and myself are committing to come pretty much every Wednesday, so please come tomorrow if you can. If you h ...Continue Reading

We will be open as usual on Wednesday, December 28 from 10 am to 1 pm Note, I had to switch servers for our GLTTC mailing list. I've added everyone from the old "members@PROTECTED" to this new list. Please let me know if you experience any problems. See you at the club! Thanks, Kim ...Continue Reading
