Seattle's International District/Chinatown Community Center is now open for table tennis by reservation only. Hours are Tues/Thurs: 12:30p-7:30p and Sat: 10:30a-5:30p. You will need to create an account and sign up for a 2 hour time block. The cost is $3 adults, $2 seniors. They are only allowing 16 players during each 2 hour time block. The City of Seattle is moving forward with plans to replace the Green Lake Community Center. The architecture firm, Miller Hull is starting the process by evaluating locations around Green Lake, and by soliciting public comment. The deadline for comment on this phase is tomorrow, May 22. Greetings Green Lake Table Tennis Center players. It's been too long since we've gotten to play, and there is no news yet about when we will start again. The Green Lake Community Center will be open Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. While many other events are being canceled due to the coronavirus, Seattle Parks and Recreation has decided to keep our community centers open for drop-in activity like table tennis. The GLTTC is having a fundraiser to purchase 5 new ITTF approved Joola tables as replacements for our aging Killerspin tables. We are asking all players to contribute. The GLTTC was founded over 25 years ago by players who contributed money to purchase our first tables. Since that time, the community center has purchased tables, barriers, paddles, balls, the gym divider nets, and has installed tournament grade lighting. It is now our turn again. The GLTTC will be having a fundraiser in order to purchase 5 new Joola tables and sunset the rest of our Killerspin tables. The the City has brought us 6 of the Joola tables over the last several years with the understanding that the players would match that. Now is the time.
